Who goes out on the opener? I'm talking local mid-weekers.

You couldn't get me out on the opener for all the bugs in the sea. Been there.... I'm not a fan of the mahem.

Plus I suck as a hunter.

You guys go rock on. Put back everything over 7 pounds, though... OK? Toss back the giants.

I second that. I like to dive for bugs, but it comes second to having an enjoyable dive (bugs just make it better). Midweek Winter night dives after work are up there in my alltime most enjoyable dives. We usually hit the water at about 10:00, get finished before midnight and hit the local bar until last call to celebrate a succesfull dive. We found that some of the most diffucult places to get to have the best bugs (for obvious reasons), it gives us young guys another challenge as well. Last season we surfaced during a couple grunion runs twice in Laguna, didnt notice a spike in lobster populatoin though.
