A local LDS informed me that very soon they will not provide HP fills at air card rates. We're talking about 3500 & 3442 cylinders here, nothing exotic.

Any of you HP divers getting the thumbscrew treatment?

Pete

In my area, HP fill has been addtional $ for a long time. Even for Nitrox, $12 for AL80 and $15 for others. LOL~~~

Now you can see why the portable compressor is getting more popular in the market....

you have got too be kidding, i use nothing but HP 120"s and have always paid the same as any othere tank fill!!!!! i hope that dosent catch on down in monterey!!!!!! though most of the time my tank fills are free, thanks too glenn and dolphin!!

Just bought a fill card from my LDS asked them about filling my HP 100s - 3442PSI. They said no problem - and true to their word they have filled them so far. Hope it stays that way I bought a 100 fill card.

What a crock. Do they give you a discount if you have an LP tank?:11:

Nope, no break if you bring in a nearly full one either. Card for card they are 1/3 more than the competition and this makes them 2/3 more.

Brain teaser:
All fills are even dollar prices, what are my local air rates?

Most likely what you are experiencing is the response to online marketing of scuba gear.

I've never had to pay extra for my HP120 or HP100 fills in MO or AR, but I suspect there's a shop somewhere that does that.

Of course at my LDS the HP120 fills are free and will be for life. I pay for the HP100 but that's because I didn't buy it there.

I think you're getting the screws.

No extra charge for hp fills at my LDS!!

We pay by the Cubic Foot here in South Florida. So technically, we are paying more for larger tanks (regardless of pressure) but at 7¢ per cu ft, nobody really complains.

- pressure doesn't effect the size of the tank. An HP 80 or a 3000 PSI 80 is still an 80...so it sounds like they're ripping you off.
