I'm on the verge of buying a dive compressor from a private seller. Since he found it in a garage, the seller does not know the model or the manufacturer, and I am unable to identify it from the pictures provided. Does anybody know this model or any information about this device?

P.s.: I do not intend to use it for filling tanks with breathing air, rather I need it for a project where I need high pressure and flow rate. Any help from the diving community would be very much appreciated.

Hello

As far as I know the kidde is a US WWII aircraft kommpresor. This one shown in the pictures was equipped by the German company Mohnsam as a diving compressor with air filtration .
Compressor and attachments are of the best quality but at least 50 years old .
I have been running a Kidde/Mohnsam for 7 years .
Very good commpresor , 300 bar possible , small , light and 100 liters/minute
The compressor is 4 stages with three flying pistons, oil pump , oil tank and oil overpressure limit valve.
To repair it, it takes a lot of knowledge and skill. I don't know anyone who still repairs the Kidde .
But that may be different in the US.

By the way, the pictures still show a dangerous manipulation of the Mohnsam filling hose.
A ball valve air shut-off valve is mounted in front of the pressure relief valve (valve with yellow tape)
and (when shut off valve closed) puts the OPV out of service. The shut off valve must be removed
or at least allways be open before the compressor is put into operation !!!
Otherwise you have no OPV after the 4.stage .

greetings Rainer
