Hi there! The name's Ninja and I'm brand new to diving. As a student in her final term at the University of Oregon, I was running a few credits short of a full term so I sank a credit into Taekwondo and 2 credits into "Basic" Scuba!! Thus, ScubaNinja was born. :D All sillyness (mostly) aside, I've been interested in scuba diving my entire life but really didn't decide to actively pursue it until, by chance, the opportunity presented itself at my college. I may have grown up near warm waters, but it took moving to freezing-cold Oregon to discover my love of diving.

Cheers! Wish me luck on my first open-water dive on the 21st! (Registered for the advanced course this Summer. ;) )

Welcome to ScubaBoard, Ninja. There is a large and active group of divers here from the Pacific Northwest. I'm not sure what sort of mass insanity induces people to dive up there ;), but since you seem to be afflicted, it will be good for you to have a support group. :D

Welcome aboard! I got sucked in by the UO program years ago, helped out with the program for a couple years as an instructor, then ran the LCC program for a couple. You're getting trained by some of the best instructors at the best dive shop I've seen, have a great time with it!
