I have seen two ways Tec divers identify their Deco tanks with big letters, they either use big letters with the O2% and MOD in small letters or with big MOD letters and small O2% letters identification.

It seems that there is no standard on this.

Which way do you prefer to ID your Deco Tanks and do you have a particular criteria over your choice ?

O2% goes on tape when analyzed with date and initials, right before the reg.

Permanent tank markings include two large MOD stickers and Name stickers.

I'm wondering why others decided to put big 50 or 80 O2 stickers on their tanks.

So me being metric is it OK to put a number and a "M" behind it, for example 21m or 9m, or is it because this metric issue that they put the OXY-80 on it ?

Generally the less risk of getting the wrong gas or mixing up MOD, the better. If the only thing written on the tank is MOD then you can't really mess it up. I have seen the metric "m" often, writing "Oxygen" without any numbers means no room for imperial/ metric messups. Oxy-80 Could lead to someone using it at 80 feet or metres which would be a very bad idea.

Going onto the wrong gas is still a leading cause of tech diving accidents / fatalities so it's important to keep it as simple as possible. The WKPP system linked above is still the gold standard.
