I have 5 different regulators. I would like to find out which would be the best three, since that is all I need. The 5 that I have are:

1 - Oceanic Delta 2
2 - Mares MR22 Abbys (DFC system)
3 - US Diver Micra
4 - Dacor Extreme Plus
5 - Sherwood Oasis

I put them in the order that I thought, based on the little information that I have gathered. What do you more experienced divers think?

NOt sure how I would rate then cause you did not give any criteria. However, Sherwoods are great rec regs. They are built well, hold up well, and easy to service. I like the breathing of my Abyss but hated servicing the 2nd - the ring is a PITA.

It's a personal preference issue here of course, and I'm biased, having worked for Sherwood along the way, but even though all of them are pretty good regulators in their own right, I'd pick:

Sherwood Oasis
Oceanic Delta 2
USD/Aqualung Micra
Mares MR22 Abyss
Dacor Extreme Plus

Have fun!

Performance the Abyss is the top performer. It surpasses all the navy tests and has set multiple depth records.

The Dacor - can't get parts anymore - so it's a moot point... if it needs a rebuild, it is basically a paper weight.

Oceanic is great stuff, but to get comparable performance to the Abyss, you'd have to get into something like the Delta IV

And I'm not too much a fan of very small regs - the limitation of a small diaphragm cannot offer the performance of standard sized second stages.

And as far as sherwood... you will find another thread in here of people having some sherwood issues... but over all, they are durable - but not considered to be high performance. The Oasis has the metal vanes in it that is supposed to help with moisture - but I didn't find it to do much. Trying to simulate a metal reg, and the Abyss is metal... So that would also be better in that respect.

1. Mares Abyss

2. Sherwood Oasis

3. Oceanic Delta
