I dive nekkid, so everyone knows where I am, but they usually stay far from me.

This is a serious problem for DIR divers!
... not really ...

You give mt me too much credit! I actually am vain enough to have my ENTIRE LAST NAME in 4" reflective letters on my tank. You'd be amazed at how little light you need to see them. I also have my initials in 3" lettering painted on my fins.

I'm also the guy in the shorty where everyone else is diving dry. Easy to pick me out! :)

I know someone who is a DM, and uses a pink "streamer" hanging from her cam strap. It's about 3ft long and REALLY stands out. You could wear a strobe on your tank, but that might cause some people issues.

TSandM:
PerroneFord has some neat reflective tape on his tanks with his initials, but that might not be as effective where there is lots of ambient light.

One thing one of the shops here does, since they might have 2 or 3 guides and a dozen or more divers, is have a bright, flourescent strap of wetsuit material, which the divers wear around their legs....each team/guide has its own color, so the divers don't get confused on who to follow. Looks just like a bandage for a knee injury....so you can mess with their divers by asking "how'd you hurt your knee?" Works, though.

Generally, we have just me or my wife guiding, and, so far, no-one has gotten us mixed up, ha ha. As for not getting me mixed up with the other male guides on the boat, generally I'm the only one not wearing a wetsuit, so I tell the divers to remember that. Otherwise, I point out that I'm the guide who most resembles Tom Cruise, and they can use that to identify me underwater. For some odd reason, they all tend to laugh at my helpful suggestion.

Up until recently I also wore my "signature" wetsuits. The first one was a 13-year old custom M&B which had the legs worn off and a huge patch on the butt. The second was a much younger Sequest on which the legs had ripped off as had most of the powder blue fabric. People have trouble recognizing me topside because I started wearing one of my new wetsuits last month.

im looking at have my tanks custom painted one would be the shark toothed grin of a p-40 and the other a flame job this also makes them easy to find after refills but ive seen tanks that had the bottoms painted with smiley faces even saw one that looked like a butt, i think the simplest one i saw was a night bobber from a local fishing shop tied to hose with fish line, atleast i thought he put it there on purpose never know.
