I don't like my short HP tank's bottom plastic cover. How do you remove them without cutting them up?

Soaking in hot water?

Use a rubber mallet with a small piece of a 2x4.

Put the 2x4 flat against the side of the tank and directly on the lip of the tank boot. Strike the top of the 2x4 with the rubber mallet. Repeat this on each side of the cylinder.

Using rubber mallet prevent unintentional damage to the tank.

It works for me.
