How to properly attach gear for streamlining?

Pass on the zip-tie attachment.

I lost a torch once because I had zip-tied it to a bold snap. Zip ties degrade over time in the water and can become brittle. They are no good for load bearing.

The cave knot (mentioned previously) is a cheap and easy alternative, that won't snap and can still be easily cut away in an emergency. It is worth the effort learning how to tie it.... There are some good sites online with accurate descriptions.

Yes it is. It's just braided nylon twine, just about any size will do ya.

This may have been already posted but here it is just in case. Instructions on how to attach a bolt snap to something, be it a gauge console or a dive light.
