Good day everyone,

I have a scubapro everflex 5mm with the little zip that goes across your chest, loved it for years now. Also i'm sure it has no buoyancy left in its bones so minimal weight.

I recently ripped the cuff seal off in a rage when trying to get out of it and so now it flushes quite a lot compared to before.
it does look old, and I've seen a nice fourth element reduced for clearance which is tempting me.

when did you guys change your wetsuit due to fear of the previous one falling apart on a dive trip?

The flushing would probably be enough to tempt me to buy a new one.

Saying that, I might be tempted by seeing something in the sales and the flushing would just be a way to justify it to myself!

I had to replace my light suit when the zipper failed. I notice as I get older that they tend to shrink, too.

i think due to me yanking on the neck seal to flush after i've used it as a bathroom hasn't helped.....

be curious to know if anyone else bought one of these

never used one, but I'm sure yours was in better shape than mine was before I replaced it this year.... It was quite bad, 5mm down to about 2mm, with huge above both knee pads. Was quite bad.

WRT the flushing due to marinating, just put a cath on and run a tube down your leg...

I have a Camaro wetsuit that is gettting to be 7-8 years old. It is going around the knee pad and crotch. What makes me think about getting a new one is the cold water flushing in around the family jewels when I get in the water in early season dives. Good wetsuits can be found for under $200 pretty regularly. My wetsuit replacement was surprisingly easy because my then wife didn't like the look of my ratty, antique. If you replace it now, you will get benefits of it when you want it most, early spring.

Hhahahahaaha! Has to be an autocorrect, but that is funny!!!

I usually retire, or use it for Ab diving or diving in SoCal, when it won't keep me warm. It's a 7mm farmer john, and in low 50's to high 40's water it has to be intact to work, or you will pass on your second dive.

The old suits work Ab diving because I spend most of the time on the surface and the free dives are not deep. In SoCal it's just warm water and I usually leave the zipper open anyway.

Change a wetsuit because of a few little tears? Never!
