I'd get the ATX200/100 if i thought i'de really notice the difference - With only about 25 O/W dives, not even so deep 90ft, on rental regs i'll probably love the ATX50 and maybe can use it octo later when i but my _second_ reg -
Do you think the ATX200 is worth it - ???

I was going to post a link that shows a few videos of long hose air sharing drills, but I can't access the page. Maybe someone else can get into it (FifthD's video's).

Do I think it's worth it? Nope. The ATX200's second stage is virtually identical to the ATX50's second stage. The ATX200's first stage is a totally new design and is supposed to be lighter weight. I don't care about a lightweight first stage.

The DS4 and the TX100 first stages are good first stages and proven in tech circles. The difference in breathability among the Apeks first stages isn't significant. Perhaps a machine could tell the difference. I like the DS4 due to it's 3/8" ports and lower cost.

I don't think the TX50 breathes any better than the TX40 there is only an extra knob. Some say the Tx100 first stage is no better, I haven't tried it.

Well LDS called and the DS4 is only available in DIN - but I'm diving mexixo and carib over next year - arent most tanks Yoke -
I'll ptobably but the ATX50 with the first stage it comes with (DST?)

That's odd. Unless there's a back-order thing going on or something, you should be able to get it with either yoke or DIN. FYI, you can get the DS4 from Simply Scuba for $118 + shipping ($140 from DiveINN) with yoke or DIN, and it will be on your door step in four days. You could also buy the DS4 with DIN and then buy the yoke conversion for $30 or so.

See if you can find out why your LDS can't get it with a yoke. Something doesn't seem right.

Sorta restating what Yooper said.......

If you think you will ever get involved with technical diving, then go ahead and consider getting your regs in DIN and purchase the converter to yoke.

No, you don't lose eye contact. It just flips off your neck in a millisecond. You'll see it as soon as you try it......
.....I've been using a 40" hose for a few months now, and I don't like it. The 5' hose is a much better length and allows for better streamling and more comfort.....The 5' hose is better for OW divers.

I've ordered the ATX50 with DS4 DIN with yoke converter and a 5' hose (well 150 inches actually)...

...Now what to do with snorkel - Doesn't it get in the way of the hose over head OOA drill?

I guess the choices are
-leave it its okay
-move it to right side
-pocket it
-get rid of it this is scuba diving not snorkeling

...but I _like_ to snorkel...
