In the unlikely case your gear is delayed on the way to LC, I think they will let you use rental gear gratis. (Seems common other places in my experience as well.) While obviously you'd prefer your own, no reason to miss dives.

We have had our gear delayed. It isn't a big deal as the crew at LCBR is very accommodating. We only did one dive in the AM with borrowed, at no charge, gear. Our gear arrived while we were diving. We then did 2 afternoon dives with our own gear. All was good!

Here's our experience in flying to Little Cayman last week and last August. My wife and I checked 4 bags. The weights were totaled.

Last week our baggage weight was less than 140 lbs...there were no excess charges.

Last August the weight exceeded 140 lbs and we paid a small amount for the excess. Cayman Airways gave us the option of paying for the excess both ways which we took since I assumed our bags would weigh more on the return due to moisture absorption.

We both also had hand bags which were not weighed. Our neighbors who traveled with us had back packs and those were not weighed either.
