I did what dwlmgold suggested. Personally I now use Sony Movie Studio Plus 12 ($40 ebay) and it's amazing. gpu acceleration and tons of features I will never use. Considering adobe and vegas stuff runs $500-1,000+, it's a steal. you basically just go in your preferred program to the white color balance setting and click on a part of the video that is white (or as close as you can get), and it's like an instant transformation. in movie studio plus you can set the gray and black also, which helps a bit more.
