2. Please restrict yourself to DIR questions and answers

4. DIR topics are not restricted to this forum
5. All the rest of the SB rules still apply here
Definition of DIR
The operational definition of DIR in this forum is the practices of the WKPP, and the GUE and UTD training agencies.
NAUI-Tech has similar gear configuration but substantially different procedures. The training offered by GUE/UTD certified students who then go on to train divers under NAUI/TDI/PADI/etc is not considered DIR.
While this definition is arguable, it should be argued about outside of this forum.
(UTDs sidemount and CCR equipment configurations are outside the scope of this definition)
Trolling
Please try to moderate yourself. The opt-in-to-post policy is meant to prevent posters who don't notice that they were in the DIR forum from posting non-DIR answers to questions. If you do not dive DIR and don't maintain awareness of which forum you're posting in, then vacations from being able to post to the DIR forum will be enforced. If you want to argue a point with DIR divers based on a thread in the DIR forum, the Technical Diving forum is a great place to start a new thread and argue about DIR.
Newbies
Newbies that are DIR interested are encouraged to post, particularly questions. Generally, if you're posting questions, looking for DIR answers, that is always okay. Just don't post non-DIR answers.
