It will be our first time going and I just wondered if there were
any safety concerns? Not bringing any jewelry but should I leave my wedding rings home?

I leave my good jewelry, or any item with sentimental value for that matter, at home in the safe when I plan on having to remove the item often. Whether it be a diving trip to Cozumel or in anytown USA. I just don't think that first finding secure storage and secondly merely keeping track of it all is worth the hassle. I do however have a simple, non-originaltravel wedding band that I do not remove and if lost could easily be replaced.

Overall, as said many times in the Scubabaord Cozumel forum, the general risk for safety in Cozumel is Low. If a traveler follows common sense safety rules all most likely will be fine.

I think the most dangerous thing you face in Cozumel are scooters. Don't get on one and you should be fine.

My wife and daughter can walk anywhere on the island, day or night and I would not worry.

Coz is my wife's favorite destination in Mex because she feels safe there, it must be safer than any city in the US, people are great, Island is small, no worries!
