Lose one fin. Get a different fin to replace it. Decide well hell, they work fine together, even though different types, and one green, one silver.

Keep on diving that way, and you're easy to spot no matter who you're buddying with.

If you stay close all the time it is easier to not lose them. Try being both be at the same depth, where you can see each other easily and close enough that you are occasionally brushing. It also means if something goes wrong the other is there to help.

You are probbably joking, but when the visibility drops below 2m (80% of the time) and we dive in strong current a lot of divers here use a buddy line.

No. I’m serious about carrying the leash. It’s part of my safety kit in my BCD pocket. I put it in a pouch (see below). I use it to link us closed together in case we are lost floating at sea. Floating in close proximity together will be easier to be spotted by air plane / boat than floating in distance spread apart.

If your post is still here, there is no reason for my original post to be removed from the thread. OP will definitely won’t lose his wife with such leash.

When you're diving in this chaotic state you imply, where neither your wife nor yourself has a buddy, where do you expect to get air from in an emergency, and, perhaps more importantly to you, where do you expect your wife to get air from in an emergency? Why don't you just practice diving together and maybe (gasp) practice sharing air.

**** this colored balls and ribbons nonsense.

Write her name on the bottom of her fins in big bold letters. After you've been diving a while, you get to recognize your buddies underwater by how they look when diving as well as what their gear is like.

If you're following your wife's fins, you're not in a great position to share air.
