I don't remember what I paid for my classes, but I do remember initially thinking it was a lot of money. But once the class was underway, I felt it actually was a pretty good deal. And I came back for more.....the value comes from who teaches, what and how.

Ditto on that.

Greetings TSandM and I just finished the Cavern / Intro class that I payed $500. for and considered it to be a tremendous value! It is really subjective as you have shared. I have been very lucky in that I have had references from dive buddies and done excessive research. I am sure that some of the more expensive instructors are well worth every penny. I however have a budget to consider and a wife to keep at bay who even understanding as she is allows me to do pretty much what i want. She is a angel and I would really like to keep her that way.
I am certain that I will spend $1000. to $1500. for full cave including gas fills. I have the gear required but am gaining dive experience this year using the skills taught in the Intro. course. I take training very serious and desire to progress at a safe pace not moving beyond my skill set and mastery. I am however very eager to get down in May and visit Peacock and Orange Grove and get to take our time exploring.
FireInMyBones count on it right now, you should already be planning to do Into. as a combo class. I was just going to do Cavern but could not stop at that point. The cave bug is a nasty bugger who will strike and you will never be the same! I thought that my diving would level out at Tec for wreck diving but think again the caves are amazing and have a allure that few can explain. Check out Wes Skiles images and Jill Henerith's you will begin to understand what I am saying!
I have determined that whatever the cost I will be Full cave in the next 15 months.
I have also determined that a migration to southern US is in my near future!
Safe diving to all, good luck!
CamG keep diving....keep training....keep learning!
