Ask and ye shall receive...it doesn't exactly correlate with the first chart, but this one shows the cost of a benchmark barrel of crude in 2000 adjusted dollars from 1947 forward.glbirch:

Got off my mental butt and found a chart that shows both crude and gas prices adjusted for inflation. Second page of the pdf in this link: http://www.postnewseducation.com/pdfs/smgins43.pdf

I get a 300 cuft cylinder of oxygen for around $21 and a 270 cuft cylinder of helium for $65.

work in the far south of Chicago...paid 2.19 for 89 octane today.....OUCH

the cheap one is $1.97 and premium is about $2.10 down here in miami. my father in law just moved to costa rica he says its $3.00 per gallon. thats crazy

And I thought this was gas for SCUBA tanks.
We pay over $3.00 per gallon here because of our location on a semi-isolated island and low volume of sales vs overhead. Of course I don't own (or need) a car here on Catalina since I carry all my dive gear on my infamous hand cart. Only use gas when I'm on the mainland (once a month).

Filled up two weeks ago for a $1.66 a gallon. Put gas in my wife's car yesturday for $1.80 at the same gas station. We're on the low end for the average, but it still hurts. I'm just glad I only live 2 miles from work.
