I am very new to diving (3 total dives) How many tanks you have? do you rent? own?if so how many? I bought one (used) but it seems to be a pain for one dive i have to run to dive shop to fill every dive trip..
I was wondering how many people have?

I own ten tanks. A mix of aluminum and steel. Some set up as doubles others as stages and one or two set up as singles.

I owned only one for a long time...8 years or so.

Then I bought another, and another. I now have 8. Mostly steels. Not really using my AL80s any more, but haven't sold them yet.

I have 3 AL80's and a 13 and a 19 pony bottles, plus I can run up to the fire station and grab more from the dive team if need be.

Gonna get a few more after the wife gets certified, get my fills free from the fire station but, doesn't help if I'am up at the lakes 2 hours away.
One of the perks of being on the Sherriff's SAR team free fills, $5.00 a fill adds up...

wow 10! you dont have to go to dive shop often. all air or nitrox?
you have 2 buy tanks new? dont seem to be many used ones for sale.

http://www.crazedlist.org/ - Click on FL then type in scuba for your search item, your wanting to look in sale/wanted, you'll find many tanks for sale :)

I have 10 steel tanks that I currently use for back gas with another 5 tanks in storage. I also have 5 AL 30's that I use for deco bottles.

However I bought a portable compressor this spring and consequently do not have to have as many tanks to get through a heavy dive weekend. Consequently I will probably put 4 more of the steel tanks in storage and just use 6 on a regular basis.

I usually pick my tanks up used as steel tanks can be very pricey otherwise.
