And that's even after we tried to deskew the sample by eliminating, oops, I mean excluding, the Hogarthian and DIR crowd.MB:Or... maybe we have a skewed sample... Of the 27 people world-wide who practice skills, 14 of them are on ScubaBoard. Says a lot for the Board huh?
I'll even up the stats a bit by admitting to rarely doing formal skills practice. Most of the skill listed in the original post are pretty much second nature to me, so I'm more likely to spend a safety stop practicing skills such as blowing bubble rings or doing strange things like hovering vertical head down/feet up. Eyes closed ascents is another interesting skill to practice.
One skill not taught in OW class that is worth consciously practicing on a routine basis is better situational awareness. I often dive from boats in a group of 7. A skill I work on improving is that of keeping track of 6 other divers, how they are doing, and learning to spot signs of potential future problems before they occur. Twice in the last 2 years, this has put me in a position of being able to stop a runaway ascent.
