i hate the weight belts... when I was training, they ALWAYS slid off my hips (i guess I have no hips lol) it happened on a beach dive we did and i couldn't grab them and I started going up... I panicked and one of the instructors got a hold of me and pulled me down... since then I've been putting my weight on my BC

One of my sons had a similar problem. Someone on this board suggested suspenders, we tried them, worked perfect. It does make dumping weight slightly harder, so it might not be the best solution for all you weight, but would allow you to not put it all in the BCD.

I'm using a belt. But then, I need only 2 kg, so it's not a big deal really....

So do you wear your weight in your BCD or on a weight belt or a combo of both. I just started wearing it all in my BCD and like not having the belt on.

So does anyone think there is a disadvantage to doing this?[/quote

Combo, half in--half on since going to my new BC........
