Hmm...I'm single and I keep thinking if only i had someone to split the rent and utilities with I could buy the doubles I have been wanting and take that Tech I class. For now I just keep picking up extra shifts on the weekends to keep diving and maybe someday I'll get those doubles and drysuit.
Yeah but my wife made us buy a house so instead of paying $150 per week for a room in an apartment in town we now pay $600 a week for mortgage repayments....

Plus she gets cranky when I spend money on diving...because apparently we have to have lounge suites, new curtains, lawnmowers.... etc etc etc

Live in the Florida Keys, work, have relationship with dive shop, own our own boat. Hunt (spearfish) for food.
Great sport - even better in paradise

hubby has this way of thinking...... my salary pays for the trips and the household stuff like new lounge suites (but he got to choose the leather cinema recliners with cup holders) and curtains and the plasma. our joke is that i will die working at my desk while he is out diving as he gets to retire years before i do!

as far as lawnmowers, you can hve the one in our garage.... been only used twice in 7yrs as we have Frank to do our lawns :D

your mortgage payments - yikes!

Lie, cheat and steal!

Where I live $600 a month would be a mortgage payment on a cemetary plot!:shakehead

Everyone keeps talking about thier "relationship with a dive shop". How exactly does one manage to get a relationship that warrants free air and such? Are you doing DM work for them of somethin?

Letterboy & motorcitydiver thanks for your service. I have a son in the USAF.

Thank yous are not said enough!

I work a second job as a clincal instructor for a Ems program at a local college so I can afford to go diving once a year.

One of the dive shops I go to (PG Dive in Newton, MA) provides free air to all their customers... up to two tanks per diver per day. At the other shop I frequent, I have several air fill cards, and a standing request for more of the same as a Christmas/birthday gift from those who don't know what to get me. That aside, I occasionally write articles or do video trip reports for PG Dive at their request.

If you want to build a good relationship, ask not what your LDS can do for you...
