I agree- the way to keep skills sharp en hiver is to keep on diving- the fresher, the better!

I am in central Iowa too. The local dive shops in Des Moines have plenty of local and regional trips planned yet this year. Most are pretty inexpensive. I will be heading to Oronogo, Missouri in December. So if you don't mind cold water you have some chances to dive yet this year.
