Fort Collins Bob:
1) I know many smaller gals who just fine... All they need is the right gear and right instructor.

Yes, that is my quest right now.

trucker girl:
I'm just telling you the PADI guideline for OW cert... .

Look in your book. It's the depth recommendation for NEW OW divers, not all OW divers. They want you to take AOW to get the "experience" dive.

JeffG:
But...If if people can't walk up a ladder with double Al80's, then they shouldn't be tech diving.

Doubles is overkill for a lot of the diving I do, much of which could be done with a single 130 and a stage. But some women can't walk up a ladder with doubles. Where does that leave them?

TheRedHead:
You can take Deco Procedures in a single tank with 1 bottle. I just finished Technical Diver and it was tough. Maybe I should go back to TDI. ;)

I did mine with TDI and it was doubles and 2 stages. And it is nice to hand your stages up to someone before climbing out.

But I thought those TDI stage bottle drills were gonna kill me before I could get anywhere near the surface:D

Excellent class and I'm, sure there are plenty of gals who have taken this and passed and who have gone on to full trimix.

Better than nice. Its smart.

What about the "boat is pitching and you've got to get up the ladder in all your gear (including stages)" argument, which I've heard many times? You guys have a real advantage because just about any joe-schmoe can get up a ladder in doubles without much effort.

trucker girl:
I was under the impression- from posts elsewhere- that lamont was a tech diver of some sort. Must have been mistaken... what exactly ARE you lamont? You seem to know an awful lot of stuff... are you military? Me, I'm just a truck driver...

I'm still not certified yet =)

What? The he-man idiot routine? Good way to get bent Been there..done it...got the pizza stained t-shirt. But there are better ways. A gear line is one and is easy to do.
