GotAir:
A friend of mine reported she got bent after a normal dive just by taking a Hot shower.
some say that it is writin down in some dive training books but that was news to me.

Sounds fishy to me...but I'm not a doc.

I've seen it written that getting into a hot tub shortly after a dive increases a diver's possibility of DCS, just as exerting yourself after a dive does. Not sure about a hot shower, but I suppose it's possible......

I've heard the hot shower/hot bath scenario. I would have thought it would be more likely to only provoke skin bends though. Don't know the reasoning behind it.

Many years ago I experienced skin bends after taking a hot shower immediately after a deco dive in Devil's Eye....

Have you every open a warm coke can? If DCS and the coke can are simalar. When U open a warm can it does fizz up more.

I am wondering if this is almost like an urban legend or something. I know that this is supposed to be a possibility due to theory but I don't know anyone to whom this has happened or cases where this actually happened to someone directly.

Your body temperature is just under 100 degrees. If you take a bath or shower and the temperature is about the same, it would seem to me that there should not be much of an increase in risk from bathing or showering after diving. Not to mention, water has a high degree of ability to absorb a lot of heat from a diver (which is why people still get hypothermia in warm water).

Perhaps going into a hot jacuzzi would not be something to do for a number of hours after a dive. But, I would like to hear of someone that got an "undeserved hit" after bathing or showering post dive. And, I am not talking about someone who knows someone that knows someone . . . .

I think it is just another excuse for the slovenly and unkempt to avoid a degreasing.
Please... if you are afraid of getting bent in the shower (or bath tub) at least go ahead and wash yourself with a rag on a stick.

My husband always runs a hot bubble bath for me when were on vacation, and come in from diving. So far I've never had any problems.
