I'm getting ready to go on vaction in a few days. I was checking my gear last night and noticed that the hose on my regulator that attaches to my BCD was looking a little rough. My local dive shop was going to get me one the last time I had my Regulator serviced but has went out of business since. Is this a common item that I can have replaced at any dive shop?

BCD inflator hoses are available from pretty much every shop both LDS and on-line. It's a standard item and available in various length. You should have no problem getting a replacement...

and in the very worst situation, just disconnect it & inflate/defate the BC orally/manuelly.....but----chances are from the way the OP described it it'll be fine for now......

Im going to have it replaced as soon as I get to Maui. Would it free flow if it busted?

Doug,

Good advise above on having a plug handy in case needed. But rather than waiting to get to your vacation spot, I would sort out the hose prior to going. The dive shop in Maui will probably charge you a premium, but there is also the issue of having the right size connector for your BC. Some BC inflators use a standard size and some use a larger size. (Scuba Pro, Tusa and a few others). The length may also be an issue albeit not as serious; however, you could end up with a hose that is slightly too long or too short.

By the way, "I was checking my gear last night and noticed that the hose on my regulator that attaches to my BCD was looking a little rough." could you describe (or better yet, post a picture) of the discrepant part of the hose?

I second Couv's admonition to get it fixed before you go on vacation. You don't want to have to deal with this problem while you're away. It'll be cheaper here, too.

Thanks everyone for the help. I was able to find a replacement hose its a couple of inches longer, but should work just fine.

Get it replaced and consider adding one to at least your local save-a-dive kit. I have seen divers rub one the wrong way and eject the balls. Most would consider it a user replaceable item. There is one very common configuration that covers many as long as the inflater is not a secondary regulator combo. Be sure tho get a comparable length too.
