Hi,

I need some help with lodging in the Hollywood or Dania Beach area. My wife and I used to live in South Florida (Hollywood & Coral Springs), but it has been many years since we left. What we miss most is shore diving, we used to do many shore dives in Hollywood and Dania, especially when we were going to school at FAU. Ideally we are looking at staying on the beach, where we could go on a beach dive. I don’t know how much has changed there in 10 years, but would like to give it a try. I would like to keep it to less than $175 a night for a clean place to stay. We are also considering staying in the Keys, but I will make that another post.

Many thanks

Doug

I lived on Hollywood beach up until a year ago. Honestly, the only place I'd stay is the Marriot.

Marriott Hollywood Beach (Hollywood, United States of America) | Expedia

That is Expedia's page, But it's in the price range, and you will have a nice room. The little mom and pop places, I just wouldn't stay at (personal preference) and the other big hotels are too far south. The Marriot is dead center between where I would beach dive on Johnson St and the beach to the south, and Dania pier to the north of it.

Thank you, sorry for the delay - computer was down.

No problem. Sorry for the delay back. haha.

If you need any more info PM me. I lived practically across the street from the Marriot on the intercoastal side. I used to go there for breakfast on the beach some mornings and to the starbucks for my GF. There is also a good dive shop on Dania Beach BLVD just on the west side of the bridge. I've purchased from them (BCD) and gotten air fills there before. Actually the guy that certified me uses them exclusively and he says they are great. They are super close to the pier and
