Hey, guys! Guess what? My 100th dive is coming up, and I booked JDC (of course) to do it with. It "just so happens" that it's going to be done on a three tank dive on Sunday, April 20, that includes a(nother) dive to the "hole in the wall." Anyone want to join me?d I loved the dive the first time, and am looking forward to revisiting it.
Count me in - Sunday April 20th

I will call the shop tomorrow and reserve - are they doing the Hole in the Wall dives now every Sunday? That's great if they are.

Thanks Sandy, Rob

PS Did you dive this weekend? Looked waaaaay to windy plus it was blowing all week - see you soon

I had a really great time diving with you as well!!! Looking forward to the 19th. (I'm trying to talk my sister into learning how to dive. We are going to have to make it look really cool for her while she's onboard. :D )

Meh. I AM glad I didn't drive down THIS weekend for diving. Yuck. Pretty dreadful. BUT, I hope your spring break is starting off well and you have a relaxing week!!

Carrie

Carrie,

The waves were pretty high and the current ripping. I went out (surprise!...lol) with a few friends on Little Deeper. After the first dive Dave took us back into the dock to switch our gear over because the boat was rocking so hard. I thought that was really great of him, considering the price to fuel up the boat. On the other hand, tanks flying around probably doesn't do a boat any good.

I hope your sister gets excited when she sees how much fun everyone is having and wants to see the great stuff everyone else is seeing underwater for herself and decides to dive. We'll have to show her a good time.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Sandy

Rob,

Glad you're coming along with us! I believe they are doing the Hole on Sundays now. When I was there last week it was posted on the board, then when I called to book a dive for my 100th Adam asked me if I wanted to do the Hole for it. I assume from that that they are offering the dive on a regular basis on Sundays. I think it's a good idea for them to offer it on a weekend when more people have the opportunity to dive it.

I dove Saturday with some friends out of West Palm Beach (see above post). Yeah, it was very windy and choppy, but the strong current made for great vis. It would have been difficult to switch gear out in the ocean. But it was a fun day.

See you the 20th!

Sandy

Jupiter Ledge is one of the many pretty dives in the area. Emerald Charters is popular for hunters, as Randy himself does a lot of spearfishing. I actually prefer to just look at the pretty fish and marine life. While I certainly enjoy eating them, I don't like seeing them killed. That's just me, not a judgment on anybody who is into hunting.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the dives with JDC. The Esso Bonaire isn't going to be any comparison to the Spiegel Grove, Duane, or any of the big wrecks, but it's a nice dive. I'll be passing your area (actually stopping in today to have lunch with a friend in Cocoa) on my way to my timeshare in Ormond Beach for the week. Do you know of any area around the Ormond area to do any diving?

Sea Dogs goes out of Ponce Inlet.

As "BLOWN03GT" said... Sea Dogs (out of New Smyrna) has boats that go out to a few wrecks (south of Daytona and a little north of New Smyrna). They do a lot of lobster dives (in season) and they do get some large bugs. Other than that you would have to head north to St. Augustine and they go out and up to Jax... vis is not that great either.

I live in St. Augustine and Daytona.... I drive to Jupiter and WPB for my favorite diving. However, this weekend over at Ginnie Springs there is a bunch of folks from SB meeting there this weekend. Spring diving is a very different from the ocean, but still enjoyable.

Thanks, Blowno3gt and SpaceCase. I talked to a buddy of mine from Cocoa, and he said that since I'm so spoiled by diving out of Jupiter all the time that the diving just wouldn't compare up here. I was going to try it anyway, since I like to try on my own to make judgements, then decided against it. I have plans to dive my 100th at the Hole in the Wall on Sunday the 20th, so adding more dives would ruin it, so with that in mind I'll try Sea Dogs another time (maybe in the summer). I was originally planning on going to Ginnie this weekend to meet up with some other SB'ers, but my son decided he wanted to come spend the weekend with me at my timeshare. He lives at a fish camp, so Ginnie doesn't interest him at all. So again, I'll have to wait for the next megadive.

I'm going to miss your 100th dive. I have AOW students on Pura Vida's afternoon trip. Are we going to meet up for wings and beer?

I'm sorry you're going to miss it, also. Did Debi tell you about our "special" :eyebrow: dive we're doing Sat...hehehehehehe? Bet you're sorry you're going to miss THAT too!!!!

Of course we'll meet up for wings and beer after Sunday's dive!! After going without for most of the weekend because of all the diving we're doing with Laurie being here (the three tanker with Little Deeper on Sat. morning, the full moon two tanker night dive with JDC, then the three tanker on Sunday), I'll be more than ready for a few pitchers and some wings....LOL.
