I'm hoping they do the sale again. I'm looking to purchase 2x regs and if they do it again, it'll definately be these.

I doubt you will see this level of sale again this year....Most likely something similar next Thanksgiving...but thats a loooooong way away

Anyone who bought from us that has NOT received a tracking number yet, don't worry! Hog ran out of the First stages--Good news is they got them back in stock today and we should be able to ship your orders on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Not bad for how many were sold and Hog selling out

I received both of my Hog regs yesterday. I got these during the sale at Dive Right In Scuba.

I just assym these tonight with hoses and can't wait to get them wet.

I am very impressed with the appearence of these regs, they appear to be very well built.

Thanks to Dive Right In Scuba for a great deal on these regs.

I ordered the cold water version and two 2nd stages. They are going to be here tomorrow (hopefully). I will take them to the pool Thursday and then to Monterey for a couple of night dives this weekend. I will post my experience next week. I can't wait to hear the UPS truck drive up tomorrow. Even better will be letting the air out of wing Saturday night!

On side note, I ordered mine from Dive Right In Scuba. The entire experience was awesome. Mike answered all of my questions within hours, even Sunday when the store is closed. I actually wish I lived in IL so I could have them as a LDS. Their rewards program makes them even more appealing. If you haven't ordered from them yet, don't hesitate. I couldn't have experienced any better service and support. Thanks Mike.

I finally got the chance to dive my new Hog regs.

They perform every bit as good as my more expensive ScubPro reg.
In some ways they actually breath easier than my ScubaPro.

What a great deal, two regs for the price of one.

Thanks,

Ron

I took my HOG setup out for two night dives yesterday in Monterey. Dives and regs were awesome. Water was between 51-54F and visibility was pretty good for Monterey. Regs breathe easy. We only made it down to 60 ft-ish so I didn't test them out too deep. I had the venturi lever forward (closed) and the resistance knob closed all the way on the backup 2nd stage and it didn't freeflow at all. On my primary 2nd, I also had the resistance knob closed all the way but the venturi lever back (open) and there was absolutely no resistance when breathing. Maybe at depth I would want to adjust the resistance knob but I doubt it. It was so easy to breathe that I can't imagine it needing to be adjusted at all. I did have a "oh sh*&" moment when I was swapping out tanks. One of my second stages hit the ground pretty hard. I picked it up, brushed it off, and it was good to go. I am one of those guys that will probably test the ruggedness of the regs through clumsiness. So far it passed the first test. Overall, I can't imagine getting a better reg for less money. I am very happy with my purchase. I have an expensive set of Apeks sitting in the box waiting to be installed on some doubles. Kinda wish I would have found the HOGs before I ordered the Apeks through my LDS. Oh well. I am interested in seeing how the two compare. The 2nd stages look very similar.

If you are still contemplating, go for it, you won't be let down. The added benefit is I have $48 worth of credit to use with DRIS by purchasing these regs! Time to buy myself another Christmas gift!

Hi All,

I also got two first stages (warm) and two second stages. Even though Chris explained this on the the phone to me, could someone restate the name and function of the two controls on the second stage.

1) Rotating knob: I believe that this is the cracking effort (like most similar regs) and should it be always set to the least effort/easiest breathing setting (fully counter-clockwise) when not in use?

2) The red lever inboard of the knob: is this a venturi control? What does it do and how should it be used?

I have not had a chance to put them together with hoses and try them out yet.

Thanks

the red rotating thing is a dive or surface position thing. push forward(away from you when in mouth) and it breaths better, pull back towards you on the surface and it is less likely to freeflow. When diving I always have that in th easy to breath position

The chromed knob that turns is to fine tune the breathing to how you like it, turn away (counter clockwise) and easier to breath, the other way it is harder.

Onceyou have it hooked up it is very obvious
