Scuba is a sport which encompasses hobbies like photography or arguing about jackets vs plates and wings and drysuits.

Based on my definition of a sport it has to be a hobby...

To me a sport is defined as an activity where a winner is determined by either points scored (not subjective scores awarded by a judge) or time elapsed. Scuba does not fit into that definition. But, then neither does figure skating, gymnastics, or almost any X game sports. Also note that in my definition I assume that just because it is a sport, does not mean the participants are athletes and because it is not a sport, doesn't preclude the participants from being athletes. Gymnasts and figure skaters are athletes who do not participate in a sport, while golfers and Nascar drivers are not athletes but they do participate in a sport.
