just curious if anyone has any historical photos, articles, info, fun facts, etc about the gilboa quarry before it was a big puddle. Or even any websites that have info. I have googled a bit but haven't found much. just curious to research one of the local dive sites.

Mike has a pretty good 3 ring binder with lots of historical pictures and some stories about the quarry. Ask to see next time you are there, it's pretty interesting.

Like you, I'm interested in the history of the quarries. I bet there are a lot more photos of the quarry out in the community that would be very interesting to see.

The Putnam County Historical Society may have some info on it, too. ( I assume they have a historical society )

When I worked down there we had a bunch of pictures including one from when the quarry was only about 20 feet deep taken in the early 1900's. Would be a fun project I am sure.

Good luck
Rich
