High School Reunion: Bang or Bust?

I will most likely miss mine, they are a good 5000 miles away and too much hassle. I catch up with those i kept in contact with when i go back to the UK. I did join a website that reunites old friends/school buddies, partly for the "oh what are they doing now?" voyeur stuff and just to let them know where i got to - i probably wouldnt bother meeting half of them even if paid. Most of my stuff is left behind in memories, but some i like to know how they are doing nowadays.

I skipped my 10th and 20th (thinking they'd have a 25th which they didn't). I heard that the 10th was largely one of one-upsmanship. By the 20th people had relaxed about their "accomplishments" or lack thereof and just had a good time. Maybe I'll go to the 50th, if any of us are still alive.

On the other hand I really enjoyed the two major college reunions I went to. I think it depends on how many good friends you had back then that you haven't seen in a while. If it isn't a major cost consideration, I'd probably recommend in favor of going. Maybe that beautiful cheerleader and the high school football captain, homecoming queen and king, will now have beer guts and the class nerd will be the most interesting person you see there.

ok - the science experiment is a "go"....thanks for the input all....psycho ex-boyfriend aside, I think I'll be brave and check out who went bald and who's got a zillion kids....

(I sure hope the guy who ratted me out for the garbage "incident" went bald....(not that there's anything wrong with being bald - bald can be beautiful, just not on him..)

my 10 & 20. Had better time at the 20. In between them my school had an ALL CLASS Reunion which had every class since it opened. That was the best, they made it like a big block party and closed down the main street and everything. I saw more people there than at the other two.
