There are just too many weirdos out there. Even asssuming everyone here is normal, what about all those who just gawk and never register? Then again, I could present an image that isn't me, and most of you (who haven't met me) would never know, would you? I'm not even sure I believe the "real names" until I meet them...

As far as h4x0rs are concerned, I'm running FreeBSD as a firewall that my desktop (dual boot FreeBSD/Windoze) is behind. Most of my services that I run (irc, http, etc) are being migrated to a Sun Ultra/5 that is a true DMZ and is fairly well locked down (e.g. I'm running my irc server and my DNS in chrooted environments as non-root users). Any k1ddi3z on this board that can hack through that I'll buy a beer for...

As far as spam is concerned, I run spamassassin. Bring it on...

I use SonicWall (a true hardware firewall appliance) between my DSL modem and my LAN. I used to have a cable modem at my old house and I saw a LOT more 1337 h4x0r attempts on my cable connection than I've seen on my DSL. Strange but true. For spam, I use procmail rules and RBLs.

Are you going to run Slowaris^H^H^HSolaris on that Ultra/5 or one of the *BSD or Linux for Sparc distros?

As to why I'm kalvyn... well I've been calvin (as in Calvin and Hobbes) on the BBS's and my original Internet account for a long time. Unfortunately, calvin is almost always taken these days so I use kalvyn, my IRC nick (well, it was KaLvYn) from back in the day. I always sign any post or email with my real name, and I always have, though. I'm not a woman (you don't say!), so I don't have the very real concerns about creepazoid stalkers like Snowbear and other women have mentioned in previous posts.
