Hi ! :happywave

I've just joined the group... so I guess I have to introduce myself...
Ok, my name is Lau, I'm from Brussels, Belgium, and I'm diving for 4 months now.
Until now, my great passion was aviation (I'm an air traffic controller) but I've found another one ! I just couldn't imagine stopping diving... I've discovered a new world of peace, silence, colours, ... Waow... I've just started, and I'm already addicted... :goldfish:

See you on the forum... :happywave

Hi !
Thanks for the info.
Well, I've just started diving, so I mainly dive in Belgium (lakes and "carrières") for the moment, but I'm planning going to zeeland soon.
I didn't know about GODD, but I'll have a look (even if I don't really speak dutch... I'll manage... ;-) )

See you...

Lau

It sounds like you have a great start. Come over and dive Central America with us sometime. :D

Hi guys!
Well, I have to admit that diving in cold (very cold... brrrr) water is something... You have to wear at least a semi-dry suit to be comfortable during the winter, big gloves, hat, ... usually, visibility is not that good and fishes are not very kind of showing themselves... well, I realise that I really love diving to do it in such conditions ;-)
But... a few weeks ago, I had the chance to go diving in warm water and it was... waow! great! incredible! fantastic!, ... Finally I saw beautifull fishes, colours, corals, it was magic, and I can't wait going back in warm water...
The good thing is because I mainly dive in hard conditions, I really enjoy warm sea, it's not like I can have it everyday.
Thanks for the invitation Don, I'll think about it ;-)

Hi Lau, welcome to the board. I know exactly where you are coming from. I dove all last year on Long Island, NY and got used to the poor visibility and mainly cold water though it does creep up to 70F towards the end of summer on beach dives...lol Then I went to Bonaire last month and exactly, wow!!!! Last weekend, fir dive of the season in NY and vis was 7 feet (2+ metres ;)) and I saw a collection of hermit crabs, a couple of regular crabs and a spider crab. Pretty neat, huh? LOL Safe and happy diving.

Hi Lau and welcome to SB, and have to agree, warm water diving is more comfortable than cold water diving. But you got to get your diving fixes however you can, so brrrr.
David

Yes... as I said: I'm addicted now, so... no matter the cold water... :-)
And I have so much fun whan I dive in warm water, 'cause actually I find it easier than diving in cold water. I'm waiting for september now... next vacation...

Hello lau, welcome to Scubaboard! I agree it's nice to not have to wear so much rubber, but I'd rather dive cold than not dive at all! See you around.
