Coming from Sweden with an abundance of coast line, and ending up in Nebraska for a year to come...What a shock for a diver!
Any ideas for releiving my diving-withdrawal symptoms? Diving in corn oil tanks? Mud diving in semi-dried-out lakes? I have a trip scheduled for Florida in April but that's a loooong time to wait.

I will try not to terrorize you with a lot of newbie questions about strobes and macro lenses for my Canon WP-DC40 housing, at least not until I browsed the forum ;)

Howdy!

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!
If you'll click ScubaBoard.com above, you'll be taken to our long list of forums, a wealth of information and resources. At the bottom, be sure to notice the Local & Singles Dive Club forums.

Yeah, you're about as far from diving as it gets - like me. Go to Sidestep.com and load their plane ticket shopping program, as I think it's the best, and that's the only way you'll get any decent diving.

It would help in future diving discussions if you'd complete your Profile with location - and separately - your Dive Info. You can use the Quick Links for such changes. And sizing a photo for your profile or Avatar can be a challenge; I'm a fumbling amateur, but I get the job done, if you'd like any help?

PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message." :thumb:

Hi and welcome to the board!! I have no clue about Nebraska but I am sure there must be some divers on baord from there. I guess I am fortunate in that I ended up on Long Island where we are surrounded by water. It may be cold and murky but I can get wet!!

Hi there and welcome to ScubaBoard! I think that you are really going to enjoy it here! There are so many things to learn, and I think that we can learn some things from you too!

If you have any questions or problems, or you just want to chat, send me a PM, or e-mail me at kayla@scubaboard.com

Have fun, and safe diving!

Heya and welcome to the Board... This place will certainly "ease" your withdraw symptoms, at least enough to get you through your day :D Make sure to let us know when and where at in Florida you'll be. The Conch divers are always up to something and its always the more the merrier! Be careful with those corn sharks, I've heard their aweful to muck with....

Cheers,
Vickie

WELCOME to ScubaBoard!!!
Yes, Dorothy, there are divers in Nebraska! Oh wait! Dorothy and Toto were from Kansas, well, that's close.
Maybe the Nebraska divers should get together with the Iowa divers and create the "Divers in the Corn" forum. Or is that ". . .in the Cornoil" forum.
I'm glad you're with us, at least now you'll be able to read about diving when you're really desperate. I hope to see your contributions too as I bumble through the threads in my attempt to think wet.

Tom

No experience needed and it feels great!

(in Hollywood) where the old gents are bragging about their tough childhood. "A handful of gravel for breakfast", "clean up the lake before breakfast". I say - as long as you can get immersed in water, cold and murky or not, you can be lucky!

Dive safely,
Stefan (or "Steven" for you guys)
