Greetings from Chicago! I am relatively new to the sport (only three years) but I'm really hooked, and so is my entire family. My wife and two daughters and I recently returned from an idyllic week at CoCoView Resort at Roatan, Honduras (our third trip!) and I'm working on my Dive Master certification.

Among so many other wonderful aspects to scuba, we have found that, with precious few acceptions, scuba divers are among the most interesting and fun people we encounter. I've seen several references to ScubaBoard on other chat boards, and decided to check it out. So, looking forward to meeting y'all!

Isn't scuba the ideal intergenerational sport? I am originally from Illinois. Do you dive Lake Michigan?

Great DaVinci quote! By the way, how does one add a jpeg under your screen name. I figured out how to put one into my profile, but not along side postings.

Absolutely! One of the first time I observed my teenage daughters so unequivocally enthusiastic since they were little. With most things Mom and Dad enjoy, they display a teenage cynicism, but not scuba! Lake Michigan is a great place to dive wrecks, as you know. Trouble is, the 45 degree water... We just bought an appropriate boat for diving the big lake, now I've got to pop for the dry suit!

Glad to have another Chicagoan on the board. Watch the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew forum. Lots of good people on there.
