Hey all.
I'm Robert Bloor. I'm a very newbie diver. Just logged my 25th last week, so please bear with my newbie questions.
I'm an entertainer by trade so I get to travel a lot. I got certified earlier in the year and have done dives in south Florida (Lantana and Key Largo). So far I've been on Tumbling Rocks in Lantana as well as their Castor wreck. The castor is an alright wreck. Tumbling rocks was incredible as it was sea turtle mating season so their were plentiful. I think they were laggerheads.
Key Largo dives have been Molasses, Snappers, Duane etc.
My wife and I just dove the Oriskany last week. That's one heck of a dive. The thermocline was unreal - dropped from about 83 to 71 in less then 2 ft. But from about 20' up it was loaded with soup. The divemaster tells me the name for it is "whale snot." Gross. And I got my first jelly sting. It wasn't a live jelly. Apparently the boat props can chop up jellys and send their parts floating - right into my cheeks. Dammit. That wasn't pleasant at all.
Luckily my career warrants fantastic travel. We'll be in Playa del Carmen, Mexico for three weeks in July. I'll be performing with AM Resorts (Dreams, Sunscape etc) in Cancun, Tulum and Capri. If anyone happens to be at those resorts during that time feel free to send me a note.
