Of course it isn't... it's not even a country, yet!

Here we've been getting 40-80 ft vis the past week while you "Big Islanders" (those that live on the mainland) muddle through 5-10 ft (if you're lucky). Water temps down to 200 ft are 3-6 degrees higher than they were at the same sites and depths last year. Yet almost no one is signing up to go out on our dive boats.

Hey, we're not Fourth World here. We DO have big screen televisions. You CAN watch the BEARS beat the "little horsies" Sunday after getting in a few dives at Casino Point in the warm (80 degree) weather being forecast.

Come on out... don't just sit there in front of the tube with beer and chips. You won't be able to fit into your wetsuits next week if you do that!

Bill are you lonely on the big island? :) If I were closer, I would come diving with you and bring Johnny. We have no one to dive with either  I just don't get it. That said, we did get a good dive in on the Sheridan last week. What a great feeling.

dito on that!!!

I though Catalina was a foreign country that accepts American dollars and the natives speak English and eat buffalo? Am I wrong? Who ever said anything about 4th world?

What are the temps like in the 60 - 80 ft range?

Those wild pigs

that little grocery store

that hospital

are you sure?

oh...and those elections!

Bill...you could get a chopper and be at Fashion Island in Newport Beach in 15 minutes.

I swear!!!

I am dying to get in the water at ANY depth!!!

LOL

You will have plenty of buddies there at the end of the month.

I think Dr. Bill refers to the rest of us as "the big island".

Sigh, you would have to bring Johnny and spoil it all (just kidding, Johnny!). When are you both coming back to our humble "little island" with its quaint grass shacks?

Ahem, we eat bison... buffalo are found in Asia (and Africa I think, but don't ask me... I'm a marine biologist). And I will accept ANY currency I can get my grubby little hands on.
