After several months of distractions (long story) I am finally ready to do what I moved to Florida to do: dive, of course. Problem is, I'm not too sure where to go. I live in the Bradenton/Sarasota area and while I've already found several springs that seem worth going to, I am still fairly new to all this and am unsure of which ones I should visit. I am not cave certified nor highly experienced, but beach diving into the gulf is boring and I would like to find someplace not too terribly far away where I can get some dives under my belt that exceed the dull 20 ft I get out here. Thanks ahead of time for the help.

If you ever want to do a spring (Ginnie, Blue Grotto.....) let me know. ScubaQuest in Sarasota has a boat and there are several good charter boats out of Clearwater/St.Pete plus some SB members with their own boats.

I'm going to get a cheering section together for Rich on Friday and we'll stand on top of the Skyway and give support (and Coast Guard assistance if need be) for his shake down cruise:)

i was thinking about doing a spring dive next weekend....

I'm not much of one for the springs. Check out that Greater Tampa thread though, like the Frogman said. A bunch of us are always posting what we are up to and would love to dive with you.
