For certain computers it has been the transmitter that is the issue. I got my Air Z Nitrox back pretty quick, but not the transmitter. That was suppose to be in at the end of October. I dropped mine off in Aug along with a couple other computers, and 2 regs. All else were done in short order.

The issue as I have been told is that SP is replacing the transmitters with new types that the user can change the batteries on, just like on the SOL. I will ask about the status later today when I am at the shop.

4 months?! Yikes! My SP regs were dropped off at my LDS on Monday and back for a dive the next weekend.

Had an issue with a SP computer in July, it was sent back to SP and a new replacement showed up within a month or so.

I had the Battery replaced by a shop which is doing it themself. They told it is a pain to send them in. The transmitter will need a month or so.
A other shop which is a friend of mine told me they refuse to send the uwatec to Hongkong (for SE Asia) as he sent 4 pcs and never got them back and the customer did not believe him, Scubapro told they sent and he was just in the middle....

Took my Smart Com Pro in for battery replacement about 4 weeks ago. I had the dive shop owner call SP and they said it would be another 4 weeks. I'll be trading it in on a new Oceanic.

Picked up my nice new transmitter yesterday. Brand new with user changeable battery. No cost, nada, zero, zippo, no charge on an out of warranty item that most companies would have just told you tough luck.

My Citizen watch battery died and they said it is no longer serviceable. They gave me half off any watch they sell. Unfortunately that is what the street price is too. :mooner: So I would rather have the watch back just to keep the new band. Half off the street price would have been a better deal, much like SP gave me 40% off the dealer price when my Air X Nitrox was no longer serviceable.

My exchange transmitter was 100 Euro. Without giving the old one back it would be 300 Euro.
So changing the battery was a total of 170 Euro. :shakehead:
