hahah ROCK ON KAYLA!! yeah kay i agree with you..junior high isnt the place to be takin a stand in those kinds of topics! im in 10th grade and we still havent had ne1 doing that kinda stuff...and also there are prolly a lot of people in your grade who believe in abstinence until marriage..so your prolly stepped on their toes too!

REPUBLICANS ARE DEFINATELY SEXIER!!

Well, at least I'm not the only one who thought that it was a bit soon for that! Oh yeah, Repbulicans have got it goin' on! :crafty:

Republicans SUCK. Unfortunatly most of them are not open minded and that is JUST the reason why I REALLY dont like them!

WOW arent you cool? yall can gang up on a 13 yr old!

Were not ganging up on you. Were just stating how we feel, and its way to late to pull the age card... you have already shown that you are way above that. I'm dropping the subject from here on out... I was just saying how I felt, I never intended for you to feel as if we were ganging up on you.

Just wondering.. for no other reason then just general knowledge... who are you certified thru?

Sorry if we offended you!

okay, im not going to try to get graphic with this post because the mods will kick me off like zach, but i guess girls around new jersey are just a littttttle more...easy?(insert other profane words to explain girls that have sex that young) and they need to be given condoms. i hardly know girls in eighth grade that havent at least gotten to 3rd or further, and that 3rd is like an accepted thing now between girls. i guess it just depends where you live or what your morals are, im not saying which ones are wrong or which ones are right. i dont think its too young at all to be giving out condoms in school and i think it is your right to do it and u should fight for it or give out condoms as much as you want to because i know me and my friends already had rubbers in eighth grade. way to stand up for what you believe in.

I think that you are definetley right. Different places have to deal with different things. It still just blows my mind however that this is even an issue. I'm starting to think that out county is more sheltered then I would like to believe. I mean, sure, there are definetley some people that are a bit more advanced in some departments, but not to the extreme of what I'm hearing here. It it really is that big of a problem there, then extra Kudos to you for doing something about it. I just hope that it didn't encourage activities at the same time. If you feel that what you did was the right thing for your school, then AWESOME! I'm sure you're right. That was just my 0.02.....

For the record though... if I lived there, and these were my kids, I would lock them up until they were 30. They would thank me some day! ;)

yet again...im goin with kay on this one! i guess its different morals..but i will never understand them! yes people down here are awfully easy too(i live by new orleans c'mon what do you expect) but still...i wil never understand! whatever happened to people having respect for themselves?? eh..i guess im alone on that one!

we arent ganging up on you...just giving you an older more experienced opinion. take it however you want...but we are just trying to help you see that there are many sides to an opinion.

and if i had kids..i would lock em up too lol..but this is why im not having kids..so i wont have to worry about that! lol

youre right, but whether you like it or not, its still happening. she did the right thing. a lot of people try to have sex without condoms, in ways which i will again not say, and end up getting pregnant. maybe it encouraged activity, but is it any different than giving out needles to heroin addicts telling them if theyre going to do it, do it safe? if kids want to do it enough, theyll do it with or without a rubber, so better that they have it then not

Chaz, I don't think you can even compare handing out condoms to handing out needles. It's two completely different levels.

I'm not ganging up on you here, but I'm not sure that you did the right thing. Firstly, (I know you hate hearing this -- I did too -- but it's still true) I think you're too young to understand the different views people have on teenage sex. There is the churches's opinion, parental opinions, teenage opinions, liberal vs. conservative opinions. I think -- without meaning to, or even realizing you werre doing it -- you offended a lot of people for different reasons by passing out condoms. Anyway, I don't believe it's our place to do that. If you're sexually active and you need condoms then buy them. Jesus, they're $8.00 for 24.. anyone can get them! Also a lot of health clinics will pass them out for free if you go in and ask for one.

My brother is in 8th grade and I can assure you no one in his class is anywhere NEAR being mature enough to be having sex. I think Lindsay and Kayla areght -- by passing out condoms to such young people you promote something that wasn't even considered before. It's good that you stood up for something you believe in but there is still a time and a place for everything, unfortunately school isn't the place to be handing out condoms. Especially without the knowlege and consent of a teacher.

Just my $0.02. Maybe I'm old-fashioned too. Oh, and if you're going to start talking about sex and politics you can't play the age card. You're either ready to talk about them or your not. Don't mention it if you don't want people to disagree with you.

I couldn't agree with you more. First off, handing out condoms and handing out needles are at two totally different ends of the spectrum. There is no possible way that they can even be compared.... so there is a big difference.

I think that in the long run, it doesn't really matter what we think you guys... the fact is, shes going to do whatever it is that she wants to do. I will not sit here and tell you that I agree, because it would be a lie, but I'm not her mom. I think that the most shocking part is the fact that these were in fact 8th graders. If it would have been 10th or 11th grade, I would probably have had a different opinion... but I just don't think that the maturity level in 8th grade is at a place where this is even needed. Then again.. what do I know? I make a vote that we just try to drop the matter, and move on. In the long run, it doesn't matter anyway!

Safe diving! (Thats what were all here for anyway right?)
