Hello all!
I'm a diver (although not as often as I'd like to be) that is blessed to live in Grand Cayman. I came across Scuba Board looking for specific help/advice on a dive computer problem, but I'm happy to have found a community where we can enlighten each other online on the whole range of diving topics.

Howdy!

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue:

don

BTW - it would really help if you'd complete your Profile...

:D

Welcome, I am headed down your way and was wondering if you had any advice on middle of the road hotels and some good dive shops. I don't need to spend a ton on a nice hotel as I won't be around that much but I am more interested in a good dive shop that takes out maybe 6-8 people per dive! Is it better to stay up on the East End of the island? Thanks for your help!

I would recommend you stay at a guest house as they generally cost less than hotels, and are popular with divers. Here are two you can check out:

The diving at East End is excellent but I'm not aware of any guest houses in that area. Morritt's Tortuga Club would probably be the best deal overall, if you want to stay out there:

Cayman Marine Lab offers dives with small groups (2 - 10 divers):

Dr. Tom Byrne is very knowledgeable and very personable, and he leads many of the dives himself.

Hope you enjoy your trip to Grand Cayman!
