Hello!

I just found out about ScubaBoard today and it seems pretty great! So I need some advice on Key Largo wreck diving - do you guys prefer the Benwood or the City of Washington wrecks? I look forward to hearing back from some of you soon (you can email me too - lselvara@hsc.usf.edu). Thanks!

Take care,

Leena

Heya and welcome to the ScubaBoard!! For me, I'd rather do the City of Washington only because there's always a bunch of nurse sharks on the "wreck". It's also home to a JewFish almost as big as me (I'm 5'5). I liked the Benwood also, but it just can't compare to the close encounters we got from the sharks..... WooHoo!!! great day to have a camera! My suggestion, dive both places!

Welcome to the board but I have no advice about Key Largo.

Welcome to ScubaBoard!

I'll let the local experts answer your questions about Wrecks in the Keys.

Don't forget to fill out your profile, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies to choose from locally.

Dive safe!

They are similar (both shallow, semi-intact, non-penatration wrecks), but I prefer the City. Maybe it's just because I did my mapping for my wreck course there, and I know it well.

And yes, that is a large Jewfish that lives out there.

What are you looking for in a dive?

Email? Who's got time for email. I'm on SB!!

Howdy!

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue: Look around our various forums - everything from New-To-Scuba to Instructors-Only to Dive Medicine.

I like the Grove, Duanne, Bibb, and Eagle, but they take training and experience. I'm sure you'll have fun diving KL. Do both of those shallow wrecks!

BTW - Did you set up your Profile? Some ideas for your Profle might be taken from looking at mine. Click on my Username to the upper left, then click on my Profile, and see what I've done. For your's, click the [CP] in the upper left of the screen, then click [Edit Profile]. If you need any help, PM me direct.

:D

Just curious, how do you get to the wrecks? We've been to KL twice and dived the same reef spots each time. Do you need to specify when you book the charter?

Woulnd't mind diving deeper than 28 feet (since my ears hate shallow depths!)
