It’s 86 and ‘feels like’ 101. It’s been cloudy today with sprinkles here and there (we’re at Park Royal but were in Centro for dental work. I don’t know if my feel for it is correct, but it has felt cooler that previous July’s here for me. The water temp on my computer says 83-84, and I’ve been chilled on surface intervals. Is Cozumel experiencing the unprecedented heat wave that is enveloping large swaths of the northern hemisphere?
It's been 102 to 105 or more nearly every day here in Austin since sometime in May. I've been here since 1981 and I've never seen anything like this. It’s 86 and ‘feels like’ 101. No matter how hot it is in Cozumel I bet it's a comfortable 83-85 F under the water104 here in St. Louis today. If I have to put up with sweltering heat and oppressive humidity; I would prefer to have an ocean nearby.
Aside from all of the new heat records. There is nothing "unprecedented" about this heat wave.
