My g/f just started her open water cert. She is having problems from floating upward. She tried using ankle weights but that did not help much she said. She is using 6.5mm boats and TUSA fins. I am just figuring that she needs to learn how to control her feet. Any suggestions?

Thanks

6.5mm boots--probably a bit on the floaty side. Perhaps try out some Jetfins, which are fairly negative.

That's pretty common until you get a few dives in. All the sudden you don't notice it anymore. As soon as she stops thinking about it she won't notice it anymore. It does get bothersome at first but it happens to most people. Hope that helps, Chuck

The problem is she has a tendency to get cold. We figured that 6.5 would be fine. She is a new diver.
