Was in Cocoview beginning of May 2023 and was coming back from the second afternoon dive (second dives - both morning and afternoon - are always a drop on one of the two reefs in front of the resort; something I wish I'd known before I went) and just as I was approaching the Prince Albert wreck in the front yard I felt something hit my left forearm. Looked over and there was a three foot remora attached to it, staring at me. In the clubhouse the night before, one of the folks diving there said a remora bit his ear and made it bleed pretty well, so figured this was the culprit. Shook him off, but he made about four more runs at me before I was able to persuade him to look elsewhere (which he did, going after two other divers near me). If I'd had a hood on probably would have let him swim with me until me gave up, but I kind of like how my ear lobes look. Ear lobes seem to be a frequent target; quarry diving at Lake Phoenix, Rawlings, Virginia, had a school of bluegills take interest in me, and as I was taking some pics, one of them took a nip out of one. And of course, someone else who was there caught it all, including me being run off by them.

Snorkeling with just a bathing suit I've had Remoras attach themselves to a very sensitive item on my chest. It hurt, and they can be persistent.

I don’t think the Remora was attacking the diver, it was trying to save the diver.

She is wearing splitfins, very dangerous!

Couple times...the most interesting case was in Roatan, Fantasy Island, at their gazebo. I was snorkeling there when a huge remora, maybe a 4-footer, started bugging me.

Enjoyed this comment and the pictures. Nothing to do with remoras, but doing a lot quarry diving, I have found bluegills increasingly interesting. They are fearless little creatures, especially when you're near their nests. They come right up to your mask and stare at you (or maybe their reflection, not sure). I once had a group swim up to me and I pointed at one in front of my face. It went right after my finger (I was wearing gloves).
