Has anyone dove with Diverse Borneo in Kota Kinabalu before?

Am thinking of taking my Advanced Open Water and EAN course with them next month. Their prices are just about the lowest for the Advanced Open Water and there's this saying that you get what you paid for but of course there are also real gems at plain unbelievable prices sometimes so can I hear from those who've gone out with them before?

Ok, I'm back from a few days over in Sabah and have to say that they're safe to dive with. Did 6 dives with them. Boat was in good shape and clean. Instructor (Halid) was attentive and experienced. Also didn't hurt that it was on a 1 to 1 basis. Tanks looked new to me and well taken care of. BCDs and regulators looked well used but didn't matter to me since I had my own gear.

Hi Progen,

Which area did you do your diving?

At the islands near to the city. Officially known as Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park aka TARP or TAR Park. Can't remember which island but some were nice and the others full of dead / crushed corals with just a few fishes about. Guess those would be good for beginners though. Not much you can destroy any further.

Thanks Progen, I am half thinking about heading there in July / August, I heard Pulau Tiga had some good diving

Pulau Tiga is quite a lot further from the city centre though but some say the sea snakes which can be seen is quite an experience.
