I'm approaching 250 dives on my Halcyon wings (pioneers for singles and explorers for doubles). Once I got on bp/wing I never turned back.

Love it, stable, doesn't ride up or shift, and very simple.

Happy shopping.

Unless you are incredibly short (under 5'2") or tall (6'6") a standard backplate should be fine. There are some specialty plates out there by FredT and Scott Koplin.

I'm under 5'2" and it fits me fine. In fact it fits better than most BC's as you can make finer adjustments with it. To be exact I'm using a Blackart Al bp and OMS 45lb single bladder and that covers me from rec to tec. Unless I'm carrying more than 4 10L steels...

If you have a reg set you can use it as is… but you might be happier if you looked into retrofitting it with hoses that will give you the long hose and bungeed reserve reg. The hoses are relatively inexpensive.

Remember also that the bp if you go stainless is 6 lbs and so you will need to drop weight from a belt. If you are doing warm water diving you could consider adding trim pouches to the tank straps and putting a few lbs they’re… dropping the belt entirely. This of course only if you can swim the rig up to the surface in the event of a failure of the wing.

You will not regret the move.
