I have recently decided to switch from an aqualung black diamond to a (pre-loved) halcyon infinity. However, this presents a problem:

I need a new octopus, since before I used an air source three with my black diamond. However I am a student, and money is tight, I want to see if anyone knows whether or not an air source three is compatible with a halcyon bladder. And just as clarification: I will not be doing any technical diving with this configuration, I just merely am curious as to whether or not it would work for a short time!

Here is a link to the info online:
Airsource 3

Thank you!

Should be fine. I'm not 100% familiar with the Airsource 3, but the screw attachment between the corrugated hose and the bladder is standard between manufacturers. I've swapped corrugated hoses between AL, DR, and Halcyon gear with no problems.

Not all screw attachments are standard otherwise there would be no need for an adapter ring. My query is whether the Airsource 3 will be long enough considering the more rearward attachment point on the Halcyon and other BP/W bladders

The main issue will be whether the elbows match. The length of the corrugated hose shouldn't be a problem, the original Halcyon corrugated hose is usually shorter than a standard BC's. You could always retain the original H elbow and try to mate the airsource's corrugated hose with it. Warning though the H's elbow is bound to the hose with some kind of adhesive (silicone?).

My main idea is just to have the air source work for a little while. I guess I will just have to see how compatible they are, and if it doesn't work, maybe try the adapter fitting. With any luck it will work. As for length, I think it should be fine. The air source seems to have plenty of extra length.

Thank you guys for the input!

Really?? Why not ditch the Inifinity, go with Eclipse, with the money you save, get yourself a proper 2nd stage
