Chilly,

Your moderation is too heavy handed and one sided.

Re-read the thread.

The nastiness originated with the OP after several instructors pointed out in a reasonable manner that the situation didn’t comport with standards.

Tell me what was wrong with the way I presented the matter, in which I was careful to say I might be misunderstanding the situation but wanted to advise him of the risks.

Even when he replied rudely to that, I offered a conciliatory reminder that our criticism was aimed at his instructor, not him.

He then escalated.

We asked for clarification. He accused us of jumping to conclusions, said he couldn’t be bothered to clarify his position, and then acted all superior to instructors everywhere because he tutored one candidate.

Yes, I replied with sarcasm, which his arrogant, thin-skinned attitude richly called for.
I resent that you deleted my post and let all his BS stand.

But if you want to retain new members like him by antagonizing the supporting members, that’s your choice.

OP, look up the Linnea Mills accident thread here on SB. A PADI instructor massively violated standards and a teenager ended up dying as a result. That was in the last several years.

That’s likely part of the reason instructors responded so strongly.
Thread drift but I'd love to hear what happened - can you give a brief overview please?

That is the most twisted summary of this thread imaginable.

Then correct it—or can’t you be bothered?

Tell me what you didn’t like about my first post (#29). Tell me how that warrants your abrupt reply (#30).

You're absolutely right. I can't be bothered.
I have better things to do than teach social skills to internet trolls.
